All three seasons of the gripping police drama are available to stream right now, and fans appear to have nothing but glowing praise for yet another BBC triumph.

When the third series landed, viewers were delighted to have even more to get stuck into - and with good reason, as they awarded it a stunning 100% perfect score on the review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Blue Lights is a police drama set at a fictional station called Blackthorn in Northern Ireland, played out against a backdrop of raw grit and emotional turmoil. It follows the day-to-day lives of a Belfast police force as they interact with various members of the local community.

Along the way, viewers encounter hardened criminals alongside ordinary locals, and unlike many other series in the genre, the show chooses to focus on the inner workings of the police rather than the investigations themselves.

The cast comprises Sian Brooke, Katherine Devlin, Nathan Braniff, Martin McCann and Richard Dormer, all of whom have drawn widespread acclaim for their convincingly authentic portrayals of the police force.

Praising the cast, one fan wrote: "Absolutely brilliant acting. One of the best series I've ever watched. Characters and plots are brilliant. Totally believable, and the tension at times is almost palpable. If you've not watched it yet, what are you waiting for?"

Another review reads: "Just. WOW. Better than anything we've watched that I can remember. Great writing, good character development, and what a plot! I figured seasons 2 and 3 would probably be a let-down, but I see they get even higher tomato ratings."

Spanning three seasons, Blue Lights portrays the immense pressures facing the force, particularly in the Belfast area, shining a light on the widespread organised crime that permeates the region, including corruption within the ranks of the police themselves.

Each episode peels back the layers of intricate conspiracies which must be unravelled, delving into loyalist tensions and the battle against an entrenched criminal dynasty.

One reviewer shared: "EXCELLENT show. Well-paced and well-written, believable characters and tense storylines set this show apart in the best way in the crowded field of policing dramas."

One viewer described the third series as "Outstandingly excellent on all counts!", adding: "I love it when you feel the creators love their characters! Even most of the bad guys have a touching, loveable side. Line of Duty excellence + so much human warmth and authenticity = what else could I hope for?"

Blue Lights has reportedly been given the green light for a fourth series off the back of its previous success, though precisely when it will arrive remains firmly under wraps. Fans are anticipating its arrival at some point during 2026.

All episodes of Blue Lights are available to stream for free on BBC iPlayer right now, so there's no excuse not to settle in for a binge-watch.
