Mumbai: RJ Mahvash has finally addressed the long-running rumours surrounding her bond with Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, clarifying that her family never had any objections to their friendship because there was “no such relationship” to oppose.

The actress and content creator recently opened up about the dating rumours, public appearances and speculation regarding an alleged fallout with Chahal after the two unfollowed each other on Instagram.

‘There was no relationship to object to’

In an interview with Bombay Times, Mahvash revealed that Chahal had met her family and shared a cordial equation with them.

“They never objected because they knew there was no such relationship to object to,” she said while speaking about the rumours linking the two.

Speculation around Mahvash and Chahal intensified during the cricketer’s separation and eventual divorce from Dhanashree Verma. Their appearances together at cricket matches, events and parties fuelled widespread assumptions that they were dating.

However, Mahvash maintained that they were only friends.

Reacts to fallout rumours

The actress also addressed reports suggesting that she and Chahal had a fallout after fans noticed that they had unfollowed each other on social media.

According to Mahvash, the matter was exaggerated online.

She explained that arguments and misunderstandings happen between people and unfollowing someone on social media should not automatically be treated as a major issue.

“Behzbaazi mein unfollow ho gaya, but I will always wish him the best,” she reportedly said.

Mahvash added that she holds no bitterness toward the cricketer and believes life is too short for hatred.

Friendship remains important

Reflecting on personal relationships, Mahvash said genuine friendships do not end easily, especially when people have shared meaningful moments together.

She stated that anger should not reach a point where one cannot wish well for another person.

The actress emphasised that she is naturally forgiving and chooses positivity over prolonged resentment.

Chahal and Dhanashree’s divorce

Rumours involving Mahvash and Chahal first surfaced when the cricketer was reportedly going through marital troubles with Dhanashree Verma.

The former couple, who married in 2020, reportedly separated in 2024 before finalising their divorce last year.

Despite repeated speculation, both Mahvash and Chahal consistently denied being in a romantic relationship.

Upcoming project

On the professional front, Mahvash is gearing up for the release of Satrangi: Badle Ka Khel, which is scheduled to stream on ZEE5 from May 22.
