The electricity system has completely broken down in villages Narhati and Chanchi Khurd of Gram Panchayat Chanchi Kala under the local police station area. Let us tell you that during the recent strong storm, about 5 electric poles broke and fell near Bankheta School, after which both the villages are immersed in darkness. The anger of the villagers due to interruption of electricity supply has now started coming out openly. Hundreds of villagers have protested strongly against the electricity department and demanded immediate electricity supply.

According to the villagers, the biggest crisis has arisen due to power failure in the scorching heat of drinking water. About 1500 population of the village is facing the problem of water and darkness. People have to wander far and wide for drinking water. As soon as night falls, the entire area gets immersed in darkness, due to which women, children and elderly people are facing a lot of problems.

The villagers alleged that continuous calls are being made to the concerned people of the electricity department, but no one is ready to even pick up the phone. There is huge resentment among the villagers due to the carelessness and indifference of the department. People say that there are already about 9 electricity poles lying in the village, by installing which electricity can be restored immediately, but till now the department is only giving assurances.

The villagers have warned that if power supply is not restored soon, they will be forced to carry out violent agitation. Hundreds of villagers including Avinash Kumar, Ramashray Gupt, Rakesh Kumar, Sachin Kumar, Ritesh Kumar, Rajman, Suresh Baiga were among those who demonstrated. Village head representative Sudhir Kumar Jaiswal was also present.

In this regard, Junior Engineer Gajendra Srivastava said that the poles are being loaded from the store on Tuesday and the repair work will be started soon. He further said that due to the storm, electricity poles have been damaged at many places in the area, due to which the work has been delayed. However, the concerned department claims that electricity service will be restored soon.
