New Delhi: Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is soon bringing a very good news for crores of employed people of the country. Now you will not need to open government websites or heavy apps again and again to know your PF account balance, track claim status or view past transactions.
Complete horoscope of PF account with just one ‘Hello’
According to reports, EPFO is now preparing to launch a new and very easy service on the very popular chatting platform WhatsApp. After the launch of this facility, users will have to send only one ‘Hello’ message and the complete horoscope of their PF account will be visible.
Could prove to be a game-changer
In today’s digital era, almost every smartphone user uses WhatsApp throughout the day. Keeping this in mind, this step of the government can prove to be a game-changer. At present, if employed people want any information to their PF, then they have to login by visiting the UAN portal, Umang app or the official website of EPFO. Many times people get worried due to forgetting the password or the server being down, but with the advent of WhatsApp service, this entire process will be completed in a few seconds.
Just one ‘Hello’ and the job is done
EPFO is preparing an automated chatbot system. Under this, users will have to send only ‘Hello’ to the official WhatsApp number of EPFO. In response to this, the system will show you some options on the screen, such as balance check, claim status or transaction history. This will work in exactly the same way as nowadays big government and private banks are providing banking services to their customers on WhatsApp.
Will be able to check last 5 transactions
With the help of this new WhatsApp feature, PF account holders will not only be able to see their current balance but will also be able to get the history of the last 5 transactions of their account. With this, employees will immediately know when and how much money has been deposited in their account by the company, or whether any withdrawal has taken place or not. Although, EPFO still provides the facility to know the balance through missed call and SMS, but the interface of WhatsApp will be more advanced and user-friendly than all these.
Tracking claim status will be very easy
When people apply to withdraw PF money at the time of change of job or emergency, the biggest concern is about getting the claim. People open the portal again and again to check when the money will arrive. The new WhatsApp service will completely eliminate this hassle. Account holders will be able to track their claim status directly in the chat box whether their claim is in process, approved or the money has been transferred to the bank account.
Digital services are getting upgraded
The government is actually upgrading all its digital services under the ‘EPFO 3.0’ project, so that the general public does not have to visit offices or go through difficult technical processes. Many other PF facilities are also expected to be available through WhatsApp in the coming time.
