Greater Noida: Fresh details from the postmortem examination of 24-year-old Deepika Nagar have intensified the investigation into her death in Greater Noida, where her family has accused her in-laws of dowry harassment and murder.
According to the report, Deepika suffered severe internal injuries, including bleeding in the brain and damage to multiple organs. Doctors reportedly found hematoma marks on the left and middle portions of the brain, indicating internal hemorrhage caused by trauma. Bleeding from the nose and mouth was also recorded during the examination.
The report further stated that her liver, spleen and right kidney were ruptured. Injury marks and contusions were also found on her arms and thighs. Viscera samples have been preserved for forensic testing to determine whether any toxic substance was involved.

Family Rejects Suicide Theory
Deepika died late Sunday night after allegedly falling from the terrace of her three-storey matrimonial home in Jalpura village in Gautam Buddh Nagar district. However, her family has strongly denied claims that the incident was accidental or a suicide.
Her father, Sanjay Nagar, alleged that Deepika had called him hours before her death, claiming she was being assaulted by her in-laws over dowry demands. The family has accused the in-laws of demanding a Toyota Fortuner SUV along with Rs 45-50 lakh in cash.
According to relatives, family members had visited Deepika’s matrimonial home on Sunday evening in an attempt to resolve the dispute. Later that night, they received a call informing them that she had fallen and had been admitted to a hospital.
“When we reached the hospital, she was already dead,” the victim’s father alleged.
Questions Raised Over Injuries
Deepika’s relatives have questioned the differing explanations allegedly given by the in-laws regarding how the incident occurred. Family members claimed the injuries found on her body did not appear consistent with a fall from height.

Her aunt alleged that Deepika may have been pushed from the building and assaulted again after the fall. The family also claimed she had been facing continuous mental and physical harassment since her marriage in December 2024.
Police Action and Investigation
Police have arrested Deepika’s husband Hrithik and father-in-law Manoj in connection with the case. An FIR has been registered under sections to dowry death and other serious charges.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shailendra Kumar Singh said the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused named in the complaint.
