I’ve been testing walking shoes for over four years. After wearing dozens of pairs, I can confidently say I have never tried a sneaker with more cushion than Hoka’s Skyward X. It’s the definition of walking on clouds—so much so that you could forget that you’re stepping on hard pavement to begin with.

The original Skyward X has been in Hoka’s lineup for years, priced at a steep $225. I haven’t seen it on sale since it came out, until now. It’s up to 30% off at the perfect time. Snag a pair and pop them on for your spring and summer walks, because your feet deserve a vacation, too.

This is the brand’s most cushioned shoe—period. The midsole is thick and plush. It’s made from soft, supple foam, which ensures it stays responsive. That means with each step you take, your feet won’t just feel padded, but they’ll also feel a slight push-off. To help with this, Hoka included a carbon fiber plate that sits in the middle of the sneaker, pushing energy back to your foot. The foam absorbs the impact, while the firm plate returns it.

The rocker shape helps guarantee your steps transition smoothly, gliding easily from heel to toe, whether you choose to run or walk. And perhaps most importantly, this sneaker has added stability to keep your foot in place—an essential when you have thick cushioning.

To keep your feet from overheating, Hoka fitted this running shoe with a mesh upper that’s available in a range of colors, all of which are on sale. I’ve been actively testing the Skyward X 2and while I’m still gathering my thoughts on the shoe, I have never felt a sole as cloud-like as this Hoka model. The brand made minor adjustments to the second version, so the first Skyward X is still well worth picking up on sale. After all, there’s a reason the original has hundreds of perfect ratings (nearly 80% of all total ratings are five stars).

If I haven’t been clear enough, I’d say you should run for this deal. The price drop makes this unique shoe worth an investment, especially ahead of your summer walking plan. Shop the shoe at Zappos and Hoka nowbefore they sell out. Once they’re out of stock, they’ll be gone for good.
