Honda Electric Bike With Clutch Technology: Amid rising prices of petrol and diesel in the country, the demand for electric two-wheelers is continuously increasing. Till now it was seen that the companies are competing to provide long range and high speed in electric bikes, but now the matter is not limited to performance only because the companies are working to give the same old petrol bike fun to the riders. In this direction, Honda has patented a new technology which has created a stir in the auto industry.
It is being said in the same reports that the company is going to provide fake clutch and fake engine vibration system in its upcoming electric motorcycle. The purpose of which is to give the EV a feel like a traditional bike.
Why is fake clutch being given in EV?
By the way, it has been seen that there is no need of gear and clutch in electric bikes because the electric motor delivers power directly. Due to which the bike runs smoothly. But in recent times it has been seen that many bike lovers are looking for the thrill of a petrol bike.
In such a situation, to fulfill this deficiency of many customers, Honda is now bringing artificial clutch technology in its new electric bike. Let us tell you that the company has filed this patent for its Honda CR Electric Proto bike. In which its prototype model has been brought for now. Which is being prepared in collaboration with Honda Racing Corporation and Mugen.
This is how this smart clutch system will work
It is being told in the information that this technology of Honda will have a clutch lever but it will not be mechanically connected to the engine. The bike will still work entirely on electronic systems. It is being told that if the rider presses the clutch halfway then the power of the motor will also reduce and if the rider presses it completely then the power will be cut off. From which it is clear that even in an electric bike, the rider will get the same experience of leaving the clutch and taking a pickup which is seen in a normal petrol bike.
Now engine like vibrations will be felt in EV also
Honda has not limited its new model to just the clutch. The company has also connected its bike with haptic feedback system. Under this, small motors will be installed in the handlebar and clutch lever which will create engine-like vibrations while riding the bike. Which will clearly connect EV not with futuristic but emotional experience.
This experiment has been done before also
For information, let us tell you that this technology is not completely new. Kymco has also done this kind of work in its SuperNEX and RevoNEX bikes. Apart from this, Zero Motorcycles had also filed such a patent for high-performance EV bike. But this step of Honda is being considered big because the company is already firmly established in the global market.
