Chennai: Buzz around the Kollywood blockbuster The Greatest of All Time, popularly known as “GOAT”, has resurfaced on social media after director Venkat Prabhu met Vijay and gifted him the much-discussed ‘TN07 CM 2026’ number plate used in the film.

Film detail sparks fresh discussion

In the 2024 film, the car driven by Vijay’s character carried the registration number ‘TN07 CM 2026’. At the time of the film’s release, fans viewed it as a cinematic detail. However, following Vijay’s political entry and recent political developments in Tamil Nadu, many fans are now linking the number plate to the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Social media users have pointed out that the number plate appeared to hint at Vijay’s political ambitions well before recent developments.

Venkat Prabhu shares photos with Vijay

Sharing photos from the meeting on X, director Venkat Prabhu wrote that “history has been created” and described the moment as the fulfilment of a vision that had once been just an idea.

He said he felt proud to present the first memorable gift from the film to “Chief Minister Vijay Anna” and added the phrase “TN07CM2026” in his post.

The post quickly gained attention online, with Vijay fans commenting that the director had “predicted the future” and that the movie prop had now become part of popular political culture.

Vijay played dual role in the film

Directed by Venkat Prabhu and featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, “GOAT” featured Vijay in a dual role. The film also starred Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Jayaram in key roles.
