The actress, who recently confirmed her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar after four years of marriage, has now headed to the Cannes Film Festival for the screening of her film Bombay Stories.

On May 14, Mouni and Suraj released a joint statement confirming the split while requesting privacy and dignity from the public and media.
“We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably. Attempts have been made to sensationalise our private lives by circulating fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods, which do not reflect the reality of our relationship,” the statement read.
The two also urged people not to spread false stories regarding their separation and clarified that there was no third-party involvement or dispute between them.

He further stated that the two had mutually decided to part ways respectfully and criticised fabricated reports being circulated online.
“Mouni and I chose to part ways together, with mutual respect and with full consideration for each other's wellbeing. That is the truth. Everything else being reported is fiction,” he added.
Suraj also requested media outlets and social media users to stop dragging innocent people into the matter and urged everyone to respect the joint statement already issued by the couple.
