The popularity of adventure motorcycles in India is increasing every year, especially as lightweight and middleweight adventure motorcycles are becoming more popular in the country. Now, in the coming months, we will be seeing not one or two but multiple new middleweight adventure motorcycles get launched in the country. What will be more interesting is that all of these bikes will come powered by twin-cylinder engines. So, without any delay, let’s jump right into the details of these upcoming middleweight twin-cylinder adventure motorcycles in India.
The newest bike to enter this list is the KTM 490 Adventure. This upcoming motorcycle was recently spotted testing internationally. It has been reported that the KTM 490 Adventure will sit above the existing 390 Adventure lineup and will not be replacing the 390 Adventure series. Instead, it will sit above it.
As for the design, the upcoming KTM 490 Adventure will look very similar to the current 390 Adventure. However, it will be larger, more muscular, and more premium. The test mule seen in the spy shots was equipped with a tall windscreen, vertically stacked dual projector headlamps, aggressive front fairing, and a sharply sculpted fuel tank. The motorcycle also gets a tall riding stance, one-piece seat, long rear grab handle, and an upswept exhaust.
Its notable highlights will include a steel trellis frame, WP APEX long-travel suspension, and a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup wrapped with chunky dual-purpose tyres. Braking duties on this motorcycle will be handled by a large single front disc brake with radial calipers and a single disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS will also be offered.
The biggest highlight of this motorcycle will be its all-new parallel-twin engine. KTM is expected to offer its premium middleweight ADV with a 490cc to 500cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine. It will produce around 50 to 60 PS and 40 to 50 Nm of torque. Most likely, KTM will launch the 490 Adventure either by the end of this year or during the first half of next year.
Pricing is expected to be in the range of Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Once launched, it will rival the likes of the BMW F 450 GS, Honda NX500, Royal Enfield Himalayan 750, CFMoto 450, and other middleweight adventure motorcycles in this list.

Another very highly anticipated twin-cylinder ADV on this list is the Royal Enfield Himalayan 750. This motorcycle has already been showcased on multiple occasions and finally this year it will be making its official debut. Once launched, the Himalayan 750 will become the biggest and most powerful adventure motorcycle in the Royal Enfield lineup till date. It will be targeted towards buyers who want a more powerful long-distance touring motorcycle with better highway performance.
Powering the Himalayan 750 will be a new 750cc parallel-twin engine, which has been derived from the existing 648cc platform. This motor is expected to produce around 55 to 60 bhp and a lot more torque than the current Himalayan 450. The Himalayan 750 is also expected to receive a completely new chassis setup.
Reports have suggested that it will feature a new frame, new swingarm, and a monoshock rear suspension setup along with a remote preload adjuster. The motorcycle is expected to ride on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. This will help it strike a balance between off-road capability and highway touring.
Now, coming to the feature highlights on the Himalayan 750, it will most likely be offered with a TFT instrument display, cruise control, adjustable windscreen, and a large fuel tank. The launch is expected to take place in the second half of this year. As for the pricing, it will most likely remain between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.

It has also been reported that the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto is also preparing to re-enter the Indian market with the 450 MT adventure motorcycle. Internationally, this motorcycle has already become very popular because of its affordable pricing and strong off-road capability.
Coming to the powertrain, the upcoming CFMoto 450 MT will get a 449cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine. As for the power, it will make around 40 to 45 bhp. Gearbox duties will be handled by a 6-speed gearbox along with a slipper clutch. The 450 MT will also feature a ride-by-wire throttle, upside-down front forks, rear monoshock suspension, and a proper adventure wheel setup with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combination.
Its list of features will include a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, multiple riding modes, traction control, LED lighting, and a USB charging port. CFMoto is expected to bring this motorcycle to India via the CKD route. CFMoto is expected to offer this adventure motorcycle in the price range of Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 4.5 lakh.

Another interesting motorcycle which will soon be making its debut in India will be the Brixton Storr 500. The Austrian motorcycle brand is planning to enter the Indian market with this rugged middleweight adventure motorcycle. The Brixton Storr 500 will come powered by a 486cc parallel-twin engine producing around 47 bhp.
As for the suspension duties, they will be handled by KYB upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock setup. The motorcycle will also feature J. Juan disc brakes along with dual-channel ABS. Other feature highlights will include built-in fog lamps, a 5-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, traction control, and USB charging. The Storr 500 was originally expected to launch last year. However, now it is expected to make its debut sometime this year with a price tag of around Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 5.5 lakh.

The premium British motorcycle brand Norton, which is owned by TVS, is also planning to enter the premium adventure motorcycle segment in India. The company is expected to launch the Norton Atlas 650, which will directly rival the Himalayan 750 and other premium middleweight ADV motorcycles.
The Norton Atlas 650 is expected to come powered by a 650cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine producing around 50 to 55 bhp. It is expected to feature upside-down front forks, wire-spoke wheels, dual disc brakes, a large windscreen, and a fully digital TFT instrument console.
The Atlas 650 will most likely come loaded with premium features including traction control, riding modes, a quickshifter, smartphone connectivity, and keyless ignition. These motorcycles will be manufactured in India by TVS and exported to global markets as well. The Norton Atlas is expected to launch sometime next year, and pricing will be in the range of Rs 5 lakh and Rs 6.5 lakh.

Last on this list is Aprilia, which is also preparing to launch its Tuareg 457 in India. This motorcycle will mainly target performance-oriented ADV buyers who want a lightweight and agile motorcycle. Powering the Tuareg 457 will be the same 457cc parallel-twin engine which currently powers the Aprilia RS 457. This motor is expected to produce around 47 bhp and will provide strong performance along with smooth refinement.
The Tuareg 457 is expected to feature rally-inspired styling, lightweight construction, and aggressive ergonomics. Compared to other motorcycles on this list, the Tuareg 457 will focus more on sporty performance and agility. The launch is expected either later this year or by early 2027. As for the pricing, the Aprilia ADV will most likely be priced between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.
