The Batman: Part II director Matt Reeves has finally confirmed which stars will join Robert Pattinson in the long-awaited DC sequel. This comes ahead of The Batman 2’s scheduled production start next month in England. It is currently set to arrive in theaters on October 1, 2027.

Confirmed The Batman 2 cast

More than four years after he was first introduced as the iconic DC hero, Pattinson is finally suiting up again as Bruce Wayne/The Dark Knight in The Batman: Part II. Further details about the sequel’s plot are still under wraps, but the story is said to be set during the winter season. Apart from Pattinson, Reeves also confirmed the return of Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Jayme Lawson as Mayor Bella Reál, and Gil Perez-Abraham as GCPD officer Martinez.

They will be joined by several acclaimed new cast members, including three massive stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Academy Award nominees Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (Thunderbolts*), and Brian Tyree Henry (Eternals) have signed on to star in the sequel, with Johansson and Stan reportedly playing the respective roles of Gilda and Harvey Dent. Game of Thrones vet Charles Dance and Bridge of Spies star Sebastian Koch have also been tapped. Dance is currently rumored to be playing Christopher Dent, while Henry and Koch’s characters remain undisclosed.

Unconfirmed The Batman 2 cast who could return

Even though Reeves or DC Studios has yet to deny or confirm the return of some of the fan-favorite characters from the 2022 film, it wouldn’t be a surprise if The Batman 2 featured cameo appearances from Barry Keoghan’s Joker, Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman, and Paul Dano’s Riddler. Keoghan’s version of the DC villain was briefly teased at the end of the first installment. It would be disappointing if fans didn’t get another look at his portrayal of the Joker, especially when many critics and fans praised his performance in the five-minute deleted scene with Batman.

Meanwhile, despite the fan demand for her appearance in The Batman sequel, Reeves previously confirmed that Cristin Milioti won’t be reprising her acclaimed role as Sofia Falcone. For her performance in HBO Max’s The Penguin series, Milioti won an Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series.
