Prayagraj On Monday, all the advocates demonstrated strongly against the bulldozing of advocates’ chambers in Lucknow and the lathi charge on the protesting lawyers. During this time, the advocates expressed their displeasure against the government and administration and submitted a memorandum to the Law Minister through District Magistrate Prayagraj and strongly condemned the incident.

The advocates participating in the protest said that the advocate society is an important pillar of the justice system and this kind of treatment towards them is contrary to the dignity of democracy and judiciary. He alleged that not only the rights of the advocates were violated by bulldozing their chambers in Lucknow, but the administration showed insensitivity by lathi-charging the advocates who were protesting peacefully.

Advocates said that this incident is an insult to the entire advocate community and if action is not taken against the culprits, the agitation will be expanded further. During the demonstration, the advocates raised slogans and demanded immediate action from the government against the guilty officers and employees.

In the memorandum, the advocates demanded that the safety of the advocates should be ensured, their chambers and rights should be protected and concrete steps should be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future. Along with this, a demand was also made to conduct an impartial investigation into the incident and take strict action against those responsible.
