This visit of PM Modi is being considered very special from the point of view of India’s future and global politics. During this visit, high-level discussions are expected between India and Sweden on many big and serious issues like business, innovation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and rapidly emerging new technologies. According to information received from the Ministry of External Affairs, this two-day visit to be held on May 17 and 18 is being held on the special invitation of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. Officials say that this visit of the Prime Minister will provide a golden opportunity to give a new height and strength to India’s relations with the entire European Union (EU) through Sweden.

This is not the first time that PM Modi is visiting Sweden. Earlier in 2018, he had visited Sweden to participate in the first India-Nordic Summit. But this time the visit is very special because this time Prime Minister Modi will sit face to face with Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson and hold bilateral talks. In this general meeting, the entire scope of mutual relations between the two countries will be reviewed, in which the maximum focus will be on taking the trade and investment relations between the two countries to a record level.

These big and hi-tech topics will be discussed face to face

Regarding the main agenda of this visit, the Ministry of External Affairs has said that many futuristic topics have been included in the discussion between the two countries. These mainly include Artificial Intelligence (AI), new emerging technologies coming in the world, promoting startup ecosystem, defence, space, measures to deal with climate change and strengthening people-to-people relations between the citizens of the two countries. Not only this, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen can also attend a very special program along with both the leaders. All these stalwarts can together address the ‘European Industry Roundtable’, which is considered to be Europe’s largest and leading business platform.

Economic equations will change amid Iran-America conflict

According to media reports, officials have also pointed out that the importance of this visit, which is taking place right after the India-Europe Free Trade Agreement, has increased significantly on the global stage. New Delhi is all set to take its economic and trade relations with the entire Europe to a new level. Apart from this, during this very important meeting, it is also expected that in-depth discussions will be held regarding the ongoing Iran-America conflict and its economic impact on the world. India wants to see how it can protect its business interests amid this global tension.
