Tinder has added a new dimension to the changing trend of dating by introducing a new ‘Astrology Mode’ for the youth in India. Tinder’s ‘Year in Swipe 2025’ report reveals that today’s youth value emotional clarity, honesty and compatibility more than just casual dating. According to the report, 64 percent of youth give importance to emotional honesty in dating, while 73 percent of youth find a relationship meaningful only when they can be their natural self in front of the other person.
Due to this changing mindset, astrology is becoming an important part of the dating culture of the youth. With the help of zodiac signs, constellations and personality traits, youth are expressing themselves in a better way and checking their compatibility with their future partner. According to Chandni Tugnait, today’s generation has become more self-aware about relationships and are less willing to spend time in relationships where their thoughts and nature do not match.
Tinder’s ‘Astrology Mode’ lets users know the Sun, Moon and Ascendant based on their date of birth, time of birth and place of birth. This gives more information about personality, emotional tendencies and social image. It also allows users to analyze emotional compatibility, communication style and attraction with potential matches with the help of ‘View Compatibility’ feature. The report also shows that Leo, Scorpio and Libra are the most popular zodiac signs on Tinder in India. According to the company, astrology has now become an effective way to understand yourself and build good relationships with other people rather than just predicting the future.
Dr. Chandni Tugnait, while advising the youth, said that zodiac sign and compatibility can only be the beginning of conversation, not the final decision. Communication, understanding, consistency and behavior are more important for a relationship to last long. The company said that as dating becomes more purposeful and diverse, Tinder’s new Astrology Mode will help young people build more natural and healthy relationships while staying true to their personality.
