Mahindra XEV 9S — The acceptance of electric vehicles (EV) is increasing rapidly in the Indian automobile market. Leading automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has launched Mahindra XEV 9S to strengthen its hold in this segment. Due to its excellent range, premium features and 7-seater space, this SUV is offering a tough competition in the mid-size electric segment. According to reports, the company is planning to increase production in the next 4-5 months to meet its increasing demand.

Powerful battery and range of 679 km

Mahindra XEV 9S is built on the company’s signature INGLO platform. In this, customers get the option of two battery packs. Its base variant comes with a 59 kWh battery, while the top-end variant has a larger 79 kWh battery. The company claims that this SUV can give a range (ARAI) of up to 679 kilometers on a single charge. Talking about performance, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds, which makes it the fastest 7-seater SUV in its category.

Premium features and advanced safety

The interior has been designed keeping in mind the future needs. It has three 31.24 cm large screens, which give the dashboard a cockpit-like look. For entertainment, it has an audio system which supports Dolby Atmos. Mahindra has not made any compromise in terms of safety:

Price and running costs

The starting ex-showroom price of Mahindra XEV 9S has been kept at ₹ 19.95 lakh, while its most premium pack (Pack Three Above) goes up to ₹ 29.45 lakh. The company claims that its running cost is only ₹ 1.20 per kilometer, which is much lower than a conventional diesel or petrol SUV. Also, the maintenance cost also comes to just around 40 paise per kilometer.

What is the preparation for the future? Mahindra is working on taking its production capacity to 8,000 units per month. If you are looking for a family car that is eco-friendly and packed with luxury features, the Mahindra XEV 9S is a solid choice.
