5kg Small Cylinder Also Expensive: The price of LPG gas cylinder has been increased from today, May 1, 2026. In which the price of commercial gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 993, while the price of 5 kg cylinder has been increased by about Rs 261. Due to increase in the price of 5 kg small cylinder, the biggest loss will be on migrant laborers and students living outside their homes. The government has given two shocks simultaneously today. That is, the prices of commercial and small cylinders have been increased, while there has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders.
According to news agency ANI, the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 993, after which the price of commercial gas cylinder has crossed Rs 3,000. This will have a direct impact on small traders, hotel and restaurant operators. When the burden on operators increases, food items will also become expensive. This means that the burden on the common man’s pocket will also increase.
No change in the price of domestic gas
The biggest relief is that there has been no change in the price of domestic gas cylinder. That means domestic gas cylinders will be available at their old prices only. This news is going to provide relief to 33 crore consumers. Domestic gas prices were last increased on March 7. After which the price of domestic gas cylinder had crossed Rs 9,00. Currently, domestic gas cylinder is available in the country for around Rs 9,00 to Rs 950.
How much will you get for 5KG LPG cylinder?
Today, the price of 5KG LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 261. That means, the LPG cylinder which is currently available for Rs 549 will now be available for Rs 810 after the price increase.
