A shocking incident has shaken the family of a reality TV personality after his cousin was apprehended and charged with the murder of their grandmother in Missouri last week. Dakota Sweeney, aged 28, was arrested by the Carrollton Police Department on April 22 and was officially charged the next day with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The victim, Gayle R. Wilson, 75, was the grandmother of both Sweeney and West Wilson, a 31-year-old who gained fame through his appearances on "Summer House."

Law enforcement in Carroll County responded to a shooting report at a residence around 10:25 p.m. on April 22. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased woman inside the home. A witness identified a male suspect, who was subsequently taken into custody without any resistance, according to the state highway patrol. Sweeney is currently detained at Caldwell County Jail under a no-bond warrant, with the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control overseeing the homicide investigation.

The murder occurred just before West Wilson was set to travel to New York City for the Season 10 reunion filming of "Summer House." TMZ was the first outlet to report on the arrest.

Gayle's obituary revealed that she passed away on April 22 at her home. She is survived by her husband Roger, four children, and seven grandchildren, including both West and Dakota. Those who knew her fondly remembered her, with her obituary highlighting a life filled with creativity, kindness, and treasured moments.
