Dehradun/Delhi: Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra 2026 have received a major boost after Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Delhi.

The meeting focused on ensuring uninterrupted LPG supply for pilgrims and local communities along the yatra routes.

Union Minister Puri assured CM Dhami that the Centre will provide 100 additional LPG distributors to Uttarakhand. This step is expected to strengthen the supply chain and prevent shortages during the peak pilgrimage season, when lakhs of devotees visit Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.

The Char Dham Yatra attracts pilgrims from across India and abroad. With more than 50,000 devotees arriving daily during peak season, the demand for cooking fuel rises sharply in hotels, dharamshalas, and community kitchens. In recent years, concerns about LPG shortages have created anxiety among pilgrims and local businesses.

By ensuring additional distributors, the government aims to provide timely delivery of cylinders to remote areas, especially in high-altitude regions where logistics are challenging.

CM Dhami emphasized that the state government is committed to making the Char Dham Yatra safe, smooth, and organized. He said that coordination with the Centre is crucial to ensure that pilgrims do not face inconvenience. Dhami also highlighted the importance of LPG supply for both pilgrims’ needs and local livelihoods.

Apart from LPG supply, the Uttarakhand government is also focusing on:

Road connectivity improvements to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.

Medical facilities and relief camps along the routes.

Digital monitoring systems for crowd management.

Safety measures against landslides and unpredictable weather.

These steps are part of a larger plan to make Char Dham Yatra 2026 more organized and pilgrim-friendly.

The assurance of 100 additional LPG distributors is expected to benefit not only pilgrims but also residents and businesses. With better supply, hotels, restaurants, and dharmshalas can serve food without disruption, while households in remote villages will also have easier access to cooking fuel.

The meeting between CM Dhami and Union Minister Puri marks a significant step in preparations for Char Dham Yatra 2026. With the Centre’s support, Uttarakhand is better equipped to handle the massive influx of pilgrims.
