LPG Price Today: Amid rising tensions between the US and Iran, the prices of domestic and commercial gas cylinders in the country remain stable. There has been no change in these rates for a considerable period.
LPG Cylinder Price on April 25: As of today, April 25, the prices of domestic and commercial gas cylinders across all major cities in India remain unchanged. Meanwhile, global oil prices continue their upward trend for the sixth consecutive day. While the price of domestic LPG has been revised only once, the price of commercial cooking gas has undergone two revisions over the past few months.
How much have prices increased so far?
In March, the Central Government hiked the price of a 14.2-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder by ₹60. However, there have been no further price revisions since then, resulting in domestic LPG prices remaining stable across the country.
Meanwhile, the price of a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder was first hiked by ₹144 in March, followed by another increase of approximately ₹200 on April 1. This dual price hike has inflicted significant losses upon restaurants, eateries, and other businesses, as they rely heavily on cooking fuel for their daily operations.
These price increases have occurred in the wake of the conflict that erupted in Iran on February 28. Tensions between the US and Iran led to a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. As this is a major shipping route for energy supplies, the blockade has disrupted oil shipments and driven up fuel prices.
