BHIM UPI App Latest Update: If you use the BHIM app to make UPI payments, there is exciting news for you. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has taken a significant step toward making digital transactions even more convenient. Now, millions of users of the BHIM UPI app will be able to check their credit scores directly within the app itself. Consequently, users will no longer need to hop between different platforms to track their financial health.
**NPCI Partners with CIBIL**
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has announced that an agreement has been signed between its subsidiary, BHIM Services, and TransUnion CIBIL. As a result, users can now check their credit scores on the BHIM app. With this new feature, users can view their CIBIL score and credit report directly on the BHIM app, allowing them to easily monitor their credit status without ever leaving the platform. NPCI has clarified that credit information will be accessed only with the user's explicit permission; no data will be viewed without the user's consent.
**Feature Available on This Version**
The credit score check feature on the BHIM UPI app is available on version 4.0.19 and all subsequent versions. The objective behind adding the credit score feature is to go beyond merely limiting the BHIM app to payments; it aims to enhance users' financial knowledge and awareness.
**Biometric Authentication Introduced in March**
Earlier in March, NPCI BHIM Services Ltd. introduced biometric authentication for UPI payments on the app, enabling users to easily execute transactions of up to ₹5,000 using fingerprint or facial recognition.
**Users Enjoy a Range of Features**
Developed by NPCI BHIM Services Ltd., BHIM—India's indigenous UPI payment app—is widely used in both urban and rural areas. The app is available in over 15 Indian languages. It offers a host of features, including expense splitting, a 'Family Mode,' and tools for viewing spending analytics.
