He appealed to the people not to be influenced by rumors and remain calm.
Giving information about domestic LPG, the Chief Minister said that a total of 1,11,766 bookings were registered on Sunday, while three oil marketing companies delivered 1,30,094 cylinders, which is much more than the number of bookings.
This shows that the pending backlog is being dealt with efficiently and the supply chain remains strong. He said the average delivery time has improved to 3.87 days from 4.24 days earlier, thereby ensuring timely door-to-door delivery.
He said that in case of commercial LPG, Delhi’s quota is 6,480 LPG cylinders (equivalent to 19 kg) per day. In comparison, the average daily consumption (offtake) in the last one week has been only 4,268 cylinders, including 5 kg ‘free trade LPG cylinders’. This clearly shows that the supply is much more than the demand.
The Chief Minister appealed to all commercial LPG consumers, especially those using 5 kg cylinders, not to worry unnecessarily or hoard cylinders.
He reiterated that the distribution system is working smoothly across the city and adequate stock of cylinders is available.
He informed that a special control room of the Food and Civil Supplies Department is functioning to ease the access. He further said that commercial customers facing any problem in getting LPG cylinder can contact 011-23379836 or 8383824659 between 9 AM to 7 PM on any day of the week.
Chief Minister Gupta said the government has also encouraged customers and institutions to adopt PNG, as it ensures a reliable and consistent supply of fuel.
