Bank Closures This Week
If you're planning to visit a bank between August 25 and August 31, 2025, be aware that the Reserve Bank of India has announced several bank holidays across various states. These closures are due to local festivals and traditions.
It's essential to check the holiday schedule if you have urgent banking tasks, such as depositing checks, cash withdrawals, or availing services at a branch, to avoid any inconvenience. Let's take a look at the specific days when banks will be closed in your state.
When and Where Will Banks Be Closed?
August 25 (Monday): Banks in Guwahati, Assam, will be closed in observance of the Tirobhav Tithi of Srimanta Sankardev.
August 27 (Wednesday): Many states will celebrate festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Samvatsari, and Varsiddhi Vinayak Vrat, leading to bank closures in regions including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Goa, and some cities in Andhra Pradesh.
August 28 (Thursday): Banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar and Panaji due to the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi and the Nua Khai festival.
August 31 (Sunday): All banks will observe their weekly holiday on this day.
Will the Stock Market Be Closed?
On August 27, the stock market will also be closed for Ganesh Chaturthi, meaning there will be no trading on the BSE and NSE. This information is crucial for traders.
Services Available Despite Bank Closures
Even though banks will be closed on holidays, you can still conduct transactions without any hassle. You can use UPI, mobile banking, and internet banking for your needs. Additionally, cash withdrawals from ATMs and payments via credit and debit cards will continue to function.
