Bank holiday in August: The month of August starts from next Friday. This month is the Independence Day of the country. Along with this, many festivals including Raksha Bandhan and Krishna Janmashtami will also come. In this article, we are telling you which banks will remain closed in this month. According to the bank holiday calendar issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks can stay closed for about half a month this month. However, these holidays are not the same in all states. Some holidays are state-specific, while some are considered national holidays. This month, Independence Day is a holiday on August 15 this month. Banks across the country will remain closed on this day. Apart from this, this month, Tendong Low Rum Fat festival of Sikkim, Raksha Bandhan/Jhulan Purnima, Parsi New Year, Janmashtami, Maharaja Veer Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur’s birth anniversary, Ganesh Chatur Shankar Bahadur’s birth anniversary, Ganesh Chatur Shankar Bahadur’s birth anniversary, Ganesh Chatur Dev’s birth anniversary is also on the birth anniversary. Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh due to Raksha Bandhan and Jhulan Purnima. Banks will remain closed in Manipur due to patriotic day on 13 August 2025. Bank will remain closed due to Independence Day on August 15, 2025. Janmashtami/Krishn Jayanti on 14 August 2025 will remain closed due to Independence Day. Banks will remain closed in Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Srinagar and Andhra Pradesh. On August 19, 2025, banks in Manipur will remain closed due to the birth anniversary of Maharaja Veer Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur. Bank will remain closed on August 25, 2025 due to the death anniversary of Srimanta Shankar Dev. Banks will remain closed in Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Goa and Andhra Pradesh. On August 28, 2025, banks will remain closed due to Nuakhai in Odisha and Ganesh Chaturthi (second day) in Goa. Apart from this, banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. In this way, banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days.
