Kendrapara: In a significant ruling, a court in Kendrapara district, Odisha, has sentenced a former cashier from a state-run bank to two years of rigorous imprisonment for embezzling ₹85 lakh.
The police investigation revealed that the ex-official from the Singri branch executed several unauthorized transfers, leading to the misappropriation of funds from various accounts.
Judge Deban Satyadarshi Nanda based the conviction on the testimonies of six witnesses along with substantial bank documentation, as stated by public prosecutor Brundaban Nanda.
