Slice Small Finance Bank: A big update has come for the customers of North East Small Finance Bank. North East Small Finance Bank will now be known as Slice Small Finance Bank. RBI has given this information in its official notification.
According to the notification issued by RBI on May 21, the Reserve Bank of India has issued an official notification to change the name of "North East Small Finance Bank Limited" to "Slice Small Finance Bank Limited" in the Second Schedule of the Act, 1934. This change has been made through a notification dated May 14, 2025, and subsequently published in the Gazette of India on May 16, 2025. The revised list ensures that "Slice Small Finance Bank Limited" is now recognized as a scheduled bank under the RBI Act, carrying forward the statutory benefits and obligations previously enjoyed by North East Small Finance Bank.
What will change for customers?
After RBI changed the name of North East Small Finance Bank Limited to Slice Small Finance Bank, the customers of the bank need to know how much it is going to affect them. So let's know what effect is going to have on your passbook, check, and bank account after the bank changes its name.
Passbook, Checkbook, and Debit Card
According to RBI guidelines, in case of a change in the name of the bank, unless the bank specifically instructs, customers can continue to use their existing passbook, checkbook, and debit card. All these will continue to work unless any special instructions are given by the bank.
IFSC Code
The IFSC code usually remains unchanged unless the bank gives any separate information. Therefore, the existing IFSC code can be continued to be used.
