Banks Closed Today: On April 29, banking services will not be available in Himachal Pradesh

Banks Closed Today: Due to regional celebrations, banks will be closed in several areas on April 29, 2025. Banks in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, will be closed on Bhagvan Shri Parshuram Jayanti, in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday list. The Negotiable Instruments Act created the category of holidays that this one comes within.

Customers who want to visit a bank today are encouraged to verify whether the branch in their area is open. The majority of banks will be open in the majority of states even though today is not a gazetted public holiday.

Bank Holiday in Karnataka
In addition, on April 30, banks in Bengaluru, Karnataka, will be closed in observance of Akshaya Tritiya and Basava Jayanti. To prevent annoyance, customers in this area should also schedule their banking activity appropriately.

Holiday Category for RBI Bank
Bank holidays are divided into three categories by the Reserve Bank: account closure holidays, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, and holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act & Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays. The first group includes the April 29 holiday.

May 2025 Holiday for Banks
Banks will be closed on May 1st in observance of Maharashtra Day.

On May 8, certain states will observe Guru Rabindra Jayanti by keeping their banks closed.

May 12: In honor of Buddha Purnima, banks will celebrate a vacation.

May 16: In observance of State Day, Sikkim banks will be closed.

May 26: In observance of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birth anniversary, Tripuran banks will be closed.

May 29: In observance of Maharana Pratap Jayanti, banks in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh will be closed.
