Meta-owned social media giant WhatsApp was glitching for hundreds of users in the UAE on Saturday evening, according to outage tracking website Downdetector. The data show the platform registering 482 issues as of 7pm UAE time. See photo below:

Users were reporting issues about core functionalities like sending messages and updating statuses. One user told Khaleej Times that she was able to text individuals but her SMSes to groups were not going across.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp on Saturday went down in India as well, with users unable to send messages and upload status.
According to Down Detector, nearly 1,743 reports of an outage from social media users were reported in the country as of 8:30 pm (IST).
There was no immediate statement from WhatsApp on the outage.
Earlier, many UAE residents had reported issues with WhatsApp on February 28.
They took to downdetector.ae to report that they are encountering issues with the social media messaging application.
