Key steps to be taken in case of wrong UPI payment:
Take action quickly -
Inform the bank within 3 days: As per banking rules, if you see a wrong UPI payment, you should inform your bank within 3 days of making the payment.
Check the details of your transaction: After making the payment, check your email and SMS notifications for details about the transaction.
Contact customer service: If you receive a wrong payment, contact your bank's customer service immediately. Provide them with all the required details, including the transaction ID, the amount sent, and your account information.
Written complaint to the bank: If the issue is not resolved within 48 hours, you can visit the bank in person and file a written complaint. Include the transaction ID, the wrong payment amount, and any other relevant information.
File a complaint to NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India): If you are still not satisfied with the bank's response, you can file a complaint with NPCI. This can be done online through their website.
Follow up: Once your complaint is submitted to NPCI, they will review it and contact you via email about the progress of the resolution.
