Danger of cancellation of mobile number

The biggest thing in these new rules is that if your mobile number is not updated, it can be removed from the UPI system. The NPCI has clearly stated that from 1 April 2025 such numbers will be excluded from the system, which have been closed or which are not being used. Responsibility of banks and apps

NPCI has given strict instructions to banks and UPI apps. They have to check their database every week and update the numbers given to closed or new users. Apart from this, NPCI will also have to submit a report every month. This report will include total UPI ID, active users, transactions from updated numbers and other necessary information. This system will bring transparency and ensure that there is no wrong transaction. Banks will have to complete this work by 31 March 2025, so that the new rule can be implemented from 1 April.
