Now the thugs have found a new way of cheating. In which UPI users are being targeted. This scam is being called "Jumped Deposit Scam". Recently, Tamil Nadu Cyber ​​Crime Police has also issued an alert regarding this. Let us tell you that Unified Payments Interface has become a big medium of transaction. Lakhs of people are using it.


 

How does the scam happen? (Online Payment Scam)

First of all, scammers send small amounts to UPI users in the name of reward. Along with this, a hidden withdrawal request also comes. Users get excited on seeing the amount of Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 and go to check bank balance on UPI or banking app. As soon as people enter the PIN to check the balance, the withdrawal request for a higher amount is accepted and the money goes somewhere else. People do not even know where their money went.

 

How to protect yourself (UPI Fraud Alert)

  • If money suddenly comes into your account, check your bank balance after 15-20 minutes.
  • If you can't wait then don't enter the correct PIN the first time.
  • Contact the bank if there is a sudden deposit in the account. Get information about this.
  • Do not share PIN or OTP with any unknown person.
  • Do not share personal details on unknown and illegal websites.

Where to complain?

If you become a victim of a scam, report it on the National Cyber ​​Crime Portal. You cannot complain by going to the nearest cyber crime police station. Complain about the fraudulent transaction to the bank.
