In 2024 Bollywood fans were treated to a host of exciting films including Pushpa 2, Lapatta Ladies, Stree 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. However there were also notable stars whose films didn’t grace the big screen this year leaving fans eagerly awaiting their return.

Here’s a look at some of the actors whose films were noticeably absent in 2024.

Anushka Sharma

Anushka Sharma has delivered several blockbuster hits throughout her career including PK, Band Baaja Baaraat, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Her last film Zero was released in 2018 alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Reports suggest that she has completed a biographical film on Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami titled Chakde Express but the release date remains undisclosed.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made headlines in 2024 due to personal matters but didn’t appear in any Bollywood films. Her last appearance was in the Tamil film Ponniyin Selvan 2 in 2023 where her performance received widespread acclaim. Fans are eagerly anticipating her upcoming projects.

Amir Khan

Amir Khan known as Mr. Perfectionist, has always been celebrated for his intense and well crafted performances. His last film Laal Singh Chaddha marked his last major appearance on the big screen.

Amir has announced a sequel to his 2007 blockbuster Taare Zameen Par titled Stars on the Ground which will feature Genelia D’Souza.

Salman Khan

Salman Khan’s fans eagerly await his Eid releases every year but 2024 saw no Salman Khan film on Eid leaving many disappointed. However his next film Sankandar is slated for Eid 2025.

Shah Rukh Khan

After three successful films Jawan and Dunki Shah Rukh Khan took a break in 2024. He will return with the film King, alongside his daughter Suhana Khan directed by Srijit Mukherji.

Ayushmann Khurrana

Ayushmann Khurrana carved a niche with his unique film choices last seen in Dream Girl 2. He is currently working on a horror comedy film titled Thama expected to release soon.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor had a noticeable absence from the big screen in 2024 despite the success of his previous films in 2023. He is currently working on Ramayan Part 1 and Love and War which are scheduled for a 2026 release.

Ranveer Singh

After the success of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in 2023 Ranveer Singh took a step back in 2024. He will soon be seen in Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller film Dhoom Dhar expected to release in 2025.

Overall 2024 proved to be a memorable year for Bollywood but the absence of some major stars left fans longing for their return. With promising projects lined up for 2025 fans remain hopeful for an exciting year ahead.
