Modi Government has taken an important step towards women's empowerment. Last week, on 9 December, PM Modi launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana of LIC scheme to make women financially strong. Now all the women who will join this scheme will be known as Bima Sakhi. Under the Bima Sakhi scheme, women in the age group of 18 to 70 years will be given special training and a stipend for three years.

The main objective of this scheme is to empower women financially, increase insurance awareness among women, and encourage them to insurance.

What is Bima Sakhi Yojana?

LIC has started Bima Sakhi Yojana, especially for women. Under the Bima Sakhi Yojana, women in the age group of 18 to 70 years will be given benefits. However, women who have passed 10th will be given priority in this scheme. Women joining this scheme will be given training for 3 years. During this time they will be told about every aspect including the need for insurance.

Opportunity to become LIC agent

Women will also get a stipend for three years during training. When they complete the training, they can work as LIC agents. At the same time, BA pass women will also get a chance to become development officers.

Women empowerment is a big focus of Vikas Bharat 2047 and more than Rs 3 lakh crore has been allocated for women in the budget for the financial year 2025.

When and how much money will be received?

Through the Bima Sakhi scheme, 25,000 women will be selected as Bima Sakhi. Women joining the Bima Sakhi scheme will be given Rs 7000 in the first year of training, Rs 6000 in the second year and Rs 5000 in the third year as a stipend. This means that women will get a total of more than Rs 2 lakh during the training period.

Apart from this, women will also be given the benefit of bonuses and commissions.
