Aadhar Card Update- The Government has extended the date for updating the Aadhar card, know the full details.

As we all know the Aadhar card is an important document for Indians, which is used in many tasks like opening a bank account, getting a SIM card, and getting admission in college and school. In such a situation, recently the government started a free service to update 10-year-old Aadhar cards. The last date for which was 14 December 2024. But once again the government has extended the updated date, now people can update their Aadhar card till 14 June 2025, let's know about it-

Why should you update your Aadhaar?

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has emphasized that Aadhaar should be updated at least once every 10 years to ensure that it remains valid for all types of identification and verification.

How to update Aadhaar online (free)

Visit the UIDAI website: Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

Enter Aadhaar details: Enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number, and then verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile.

Upload documents: Select the document you need to update (e.g., address proof, birth certificate, etc.), and upload it.

Fill the update request form: Fill the form with your updated details.

Track your request: After submitting, you will receive a URN (update request number) to track the progress of your update. Make sure to save it for future reference.

If you need to update biometric information (fingerprints, iris or photo), it can only be done by visiting an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Please note, there will be a charge for updating biometric data.

Offline Aadhaar Update Process

Visit Enrolment Centre: Visit your nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre and ask for an Aadhaar enrolment form.

Fill in the details: Fill in the information you wish to update in the form.

Submit the form: Submit the filled form along with the required supporting documents.

Biometric Data: Provide your biometric information (fingerprint, iris scan or photograph).

Get URN: After submission, you will be given a receipt with the URN (Update Request Number), which you can use to track the status of your Aadhaar update.

Biometric Update: There is a fee of ₹50 for biometric update, which includes fingerprint scan, photo or iris scan.
