Why are Aadhaar and PAN card important
Aadhaar Card: Aadhaar card is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and using a fake Aadhaar card is a serious offense. There is a provision in the law that if a person is found using a fake Aadhaar card, he can be jailed for up to 3 years and fined up to Rs 10,000.
PAN Card: Without a valid PAN card, a person cannot do important banking activities or file taxes. If a person is caught using a fake PAN card, he can be fined up to Rs 10,000 and jailed for up to 6 months.
Legal consequences of using fake documents
Both Aadhaar card and PAN card play an integral role in the Indian financial and government systems. Therefore, using fake versions of these documents can have serious legal consequences.
