Aadhaar Update: The deadline given by the Centre for a free update of Aadhaar card details will end today. In this context, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made a key decision. It has been posted on social media that the free update deadline for Aadhaar is being extended once again. This time, the deadline has been extended by 6 months. With this, it seems that Aadhaar details can be updated online for free for the next six months. And what is the new deadline?
UIDAI has revealed that the free update deadline for Aadhaar is being extended till June 14, 2025. With this, those who want to change the address details on their Aadhaar card can update it online for free. On the other hand. According to UIDAI rules, Aadhaar-related details have to be updated once every 10 years. For this, verification documents have to be uploaded. The currently available free services can be availed only through the My Aadhaar portal. Demographic details like name, date of birth, and address can be updated ionAadhaar card. You will have to visit the Aadhaar centres to change your biometric details. However, after the free period ends, you will have to update your demographic details at the Aadhaar centres. You will have to pay Rs.50 for that.
This is the process of updating online.
First, you need to log in to the UIDAI website with your Aadhaar number.
An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. After entering it and logging in, your details will appear on the screen.
Check whether the details are correct or not.
If there is any discrepancy, do so. Or verify the existing details and click on Next.
Then select the documents using the drop-down list that appears.
Upload the scanned copies of the respective certification documents and click on Submit.
A 14-digit update request number will be generated.
You can check the update status from time to time through this number.
