The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has once again extended the deadline for free Aadhaar updates. The new deadline is now June 14 2025 moving forward from the previous date of December 14 2024. Starting June 15 2025 updating Aadhaar details at offline centers will incur a fee. However the free service remains available exclusively through the myAadhaar portal until the extended date. In its announcement the UIDAI stated: “The free online document upload facility has been extended until June 14 2025 to benefit millions of Aadhaar holders. We encourage residents to keep their Aadhaar details updated.” #UIDAl extends free online document upload facility till 14th June 2025; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders. This prevents duplication and fake identities curbing inefficiencies and leakages in government programs. By eliminating fraudulent Aadhaar numbers resources can be redirected to eligible residents thereby broadening the reach of benefits to more people. How to update Aadhaar Online for Free Go to UIDAI’s official website. Go to ‘My Aadhaar’ and select ‘Update Your Aadhaar’. Go to the ‘Update Aadhaar Details (Online)’ page and click on ‘Document Update’. Provide your Aadhaar number and Captcha code then click ‘Send OTP’. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Choose the details you want to update (e.g. name address date of birth). Enter the updated information and upload the necessary documents. Once your request goes you’ll receive an Update Request Number (URN) via SMS to track the status of your update.
