New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana on Monday, December 9, during his visit to Panipat, Haryana. The program, aimed at empowering women, will be inaugurated at around 2 PM, as per a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared by PIB. On this occasion, PM Modi will also hand over appointment certificates to the prospective "Bima Sakhis."

LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Eligibility CriteriaThe initiative by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is designed to empower women aged 18 to 70 years who have completed at least a 10th-grade education. LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Key FeaturesUnder this scheme:- Women will receive specialized training for three years to enhance financial literacy and promote the importance of insurance.- During the training period, they will receive financial support.- After completing the training, 10th-pass women can work as LIC agents.- Women with bachelor’s degrees will have the opportunity to become LIC development officers. LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Monthly StipendIn the initial year of the scheme, participants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 7,000. This will be reduced to Rs 6,000 in the second year and Rs 5,000 in the third year. Additionally, women who achieve their targets will earn extra commissions. LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: How Many Women Will Get Training?In the first phase, 35,000 women will be employed as LIC agents, with plans to expand the scheme to benefit another 50,000 women in subsequent phases. LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana: Purpose Of SchemeThe Bima Sakhi Yojana aims to make women economically self-reliant while improving public awareness about financial planning and insurance. This program is expected to provide a significant boost to women’s economic empowerment and self-employment opportunities.
