The film Kismat, released on 9 January 1943, was made under the Bombay Talkies banner. The film was directed by Gyan Mukherjee. The film was produced by S Mukherjee. The film had music by Anil Biswas.
Apart from these, actors like Kanu Roy, Mehmood, VH Desai were also seen in the film. Veteran actor Mehmood also made his debut with this film. According to Sacnilk, the budget of the film Kismat was around Rs 5 lakh. Whereas the film had collected Rs 2 crore at the Indian box office. This is the first film of Indian cinema to cross the figure of one crore.

Ashok Kumar made his Bollywood debut with the 1936 film 'Jeevan Naiya'. People used to go to watch films in the name of Ashok Kumar. Later he also remained prominent in the industry as a director, producer and singer. Ashok Kumar worked in the industry for many decades and died on 10 December 2001.
