UPI New System: Use UPI Without a Bank Account – Complete Login Process
Indiaemploymentnews | November 10, 2024 7:39 PM CST

A new feature called UPI Circle now allows multiple individuals, such as family members, to use a single bank account for UPI payments. This feature is particularly useful for senior citizens, spouses, and children who may not have their own bank accounts.

Revolutionary Change in UPI Usage
UPI has rapidly become a popular payment method across all sections of society. However, those without a bank account, including many children, have been unable to access its benefits. The new UPI Circle feature addresses this gap, enabling multiple users to transact using one bank account. Let’s explore how this feature works and how you can register for it.

What is UPI Circle?
UPI Circle enables a single bank account to support up to five secondary users in addition to the primary account holder. Secondary users can include senior family members, spouses, or children. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has implemented this feature to expand UPI accessibility.

How to Use UPI Circle: Step-by-Step Guide

Using the BHIM-UPI app as an example, here’s how you can register for UPI Circle:

Step 1:

  • Open the BHIM-UPI app and select the “UPI Circle” option.
  • Click on “Add Family or Friends.” You can add members using their UPI ID or by scanning a QR code.

Step 2:

  • Choose the “Add using UPI ID” option.
  • Enter the UPI ID of the person you want to add, then click on “Add to My UPI Circle.”
  • Provide their phone number, ensuring they are saved in your contact list.

Step 3:

  • Select the access type:
    • Spend with limits: Set a transaction limit for the secondary user.
    • Approve every payment: Approve every transaction initiated by the secondary user.
  • Choose the option that suits your needs and click “Proceed.”

Step 4:

  • If you select “Spend with limits,” set the spending limit and confirm.
  • Enter your UPI PIN to authorize the addition.
  • The secondary user is now part of your UPI Circle!

This feature makes UPI more inclusive, especially for families where members may not have individual bank accounts.
