EPFO is disobeying the Supreme Court in giving EPS-95 Higher Pension, Sefi's letter to Labor Minister: The Supreme Court's order for the Employees' Pension Scheme EPS-95 Higher Pension on Higher Pay has been ignored! This allegation is on the Employees' Provident Fund Organization-EPFO!

Steel Executive Federation of India-SEFI has written a letter to Labor Employment, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Central PF Commissioner demanding justice to the pensioners as soon as possible! SEFI is a national organization authorized by the Ministry of Steel!

Which represents 20,000 officers of public sector undertakings SAIL, RINL, NMDC, MECON and NISP working under the Ministry of Steel! SEFI Chairman Narendra Kumar Banchhor has written in the letter that due to undue delay in implementation of the order of the Supreme Court dated 4 November 2022 regarding Pension on High Wages (POHW), a lot of loss is being caused!

EPS-95 Pension Fund

The minutes of the 54th meeting of the Pension and EDLI Implementation Committee held on 30 September at the headquarters of the Employees' Provident Fund Organization, East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi have been observed! In which POHW was also discussed! A copy of the minutes of the meeting is attached! Its paras 4.4 to 4.9 are relevant! Which can be observed from the attachment!

Employee Pension Scheme - Money deposited from Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, but PPO not issued

Employee representative Sunkari Mallesham had commented among other things! That if the directions of the Supreme Court are not implemented properly! Then it would be contempt of court! He particularly raised the issue of employees of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant where demand letter has been deposited by the applicants but PPOs have not been issued even after 1 year. He also expressed concern about pending applications of NTPC where demand letters have not been issued yet and suggested to issue instructions to regional offices to issue PPOs immediately to avoid litigation in future.

Pension Fund – Time limit should be fixed for issuing PPOs
Atul Sobti-Employer Representative said that if the pensioner has deposited the demand amount then time limit should be fixed for issuing PPOs. He also suggested to analyse and resolve the issue of exempted trust rules in POHW cases.

He advised to resolve the issue of shortage of staff as early as possible. R Karumailayan-Employee Representative suggested. That the POHW applications of the employees of exempted establishments should be considered sympathetically after a thorough study.

Sunkri Mallesham-Employee Representative also suggested that the issue of exempted establishments regarding pension on higher wages should be discussed separately with the experts in the matter.
