How long is the Aadhaar card valid?
If you are above 18 years of age, your Aadhaar card is usually valid forever. In the case of adults, there is no expiry date on Aadhaar. The use of Aadhaar card is not valid after death
However, the rules are slightly different in case of children. For children holding blue Aadhaar cards, the validity of Aadhaar card is up to 5 years. It is necessary to update the Aadhaar of the child after completion of 5 years of age. However, the information in the Aadhaar card has to be updated again between the age of 5 to 15 years.
Why does the validity of Aadhaar card change?
First of all, a blue Aadhaar card is issued to the child, which is valid for only five years. As the child grows older, the biometric information changes, which is necessary to update in the UIDAI database.
