The Aadhaar card has become the strongest proof of identity for every Indian today. It can be used not only as an identity card but also for money transactions. Through the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS), you can do things like withdrawing, depositing, and transferring money from the bank account to another account. This system has been developed by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) to make digital transactions simple and secure.

The basis of AePS is based on the Unified Payment Interface (UPI). It is a bank-based model, which allows transactions through Aadhaar number and fingerprint authentication. Its biggest advantage is that it does not require bank details and neither OTP nor PIN is required. It is mandatory to link the Aadhaar card to the bank account. An Aadhaar card can be linked to multiple bank accounts and transactions can be done without any hassle through this system.

Services available from AePS
Balance check: You can check the balance of your account.

Withdrawal of money: You can withdraw money directly from the bank account.

Deposit of money: You can deposit money in a bank account.

Aadhaar to Aadhaar fund transfer: You can transfer money from one account to another through Aadhaar number.

Payment: You can transact through an Aadhaar based payment system.

How to transact?
To use AePS, you have to go to the banking correspondent or Common Service Center (CSC) operator. The banking correspondent is authorized by the bank for digital transactions. You can also call them at your home and avail of this service. Aadhaar Enabled Payment System is especially useful for those who live in rural or remote areas and do not have access to banking services.

This facility allows customers to avail basic banking services from home without going to the bank branch. AePS has taken a big step towards Digital India, making banking services simple, secure, and accessible to all.
