Utility News Desk !!! After the arrival of UPI in India, it has become easier for common people to send payments. Also, payment of large amounts is also done very quickly. But the more convenience UPI provides, the greater the fear. Because if there is even a single digital change in the account number, then the money also gets transferred to the wrong account. Don't worry about this, in fact the bank tries its best to resolve such cases with RBI as soon as possible. So know, what steps you can take if you have made a wrong UPI payment.
According to the bank's rules, if payment is made through a wrong UPI, inform the bank within 3 days of payment. Also check the emails and messages received after payment, which contain information about the amount deducted from the bank. If any wrong payment is made, immediately call the customer service of that bank and give them a complete report.
After informing the customer service, the money is usually returned to the account within 48 hours. If not, you can go to the bank and make a written complaint. In which you will have to give your complete information like transaction ID, amount being sent, account details. A written complaint can also be made to RBI.
If you are not satisfied with the action of the bank, then you can lodge a complaint with NPCI. This entire process will be online. You have to go to the NPCI website and follow some steps there, where information like your name, number, address, name of the bank from which you are doing UPI, account number, amount to be sent etc. will be asked. - After giving all the information, submit the form. After this, NPCI will check the complaint sent by you and take further action. You will receive a mail for this.
