However Kamal Amrohis first film Parkeezah proved to be a blockbuster. It is said that Kamal had taken a huge loan to make Razia Sultan and in return the film flopped. Made with a budget of Rs 10 crore the film only managed to earn Rs 2 crore due to which Kamala had to suffer a huge loss. Despite having a star-studded cast like Hema Malini Dharmendra and Praveen Bobby Razia Sultan was not just the ideal film by Kamal Amrohi the audience wanted to see. Why Razia Sultan was a flop? Kamal Amrohis Razia Sultan was a disaster at the box office it is said that the film ran at a slow pace which didnt attract the audience. The lengthy dialogues were not at all entertaining. The film had a heavy use of Urdu as a primary language which was difficult for the audience to decode. It is said that multiple investors had put their major earnings into this film however due to its terrible run the investors went bankrupt days after the film had been released. Later the director Kamal Amrohi took responsibility for its failure. Razia Sultan also starred Dharmendra as an African slave alongside Hema Malini. Later on because of his dark complexion Dharmendra was brutally trolled back then However this film even after making huge losses made the headlines due to the intimate scenes of Hema Malini and Praveen Babi which caused havoc among the audience. After its disastrous run filmmaker Kamal Amrohi decided to quit making films.
