Which are to help these people, one such scheme is the Public Distribution System (PDS) which gives free ration. Recently, the government had ordered for ration card holders to link their ration card with Aadhaar card, the last date of which was 30 September, but now this limit has been extended for 3 months, let us know how now you can link ration card with Aadhaar card sitting at home, know the complete process-

Previous deadline: Initially, the deadline was set to June 30, 2024, but this extension is the latest in a series of postponements.

Mandatory linking: It is now mandatory to link your ration card with Aadhaar to avail government benefits including subsidized food items and gas cylinders.

Aadhaar requirement: Beneficiaries without an Aadhaar card will have to apply for it and provide proof to link their ration card.

Current statistics: As of December 20, 2023, about 99.8% of ration cards have already been linked to Aadhaar, said the Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

How to link ration card to Aadhaar:

Visit the official Public Distribution System (PDS) website of your state.

Find the option to link your ration card to Aadhaar.

Enter your ration card number, Aadhaar number and registered mobile number.

An OTP will be sent to your mobile; enter it to complete the linking process. Make sure your mobile number is registered with your Aadhaar.
