Spiritual master Aniruddhacharya ji Maharaj, also known as Pookie Baba, has revived the discussion on how romances are depicted in Bollywood movies by citing his analysis of the 1993 hit Darr, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Sunny Deol.

Jaadu Teri Nazar is chosen by Aniruddhacharya ji Maharaj to highlight a point.
Aniruddhacharya ji Maharaj is making fun of the way a male approaches a lady in Bollywood in a video that Pinkvilla posted on Instagram. Using the lyric “Tu Haan Kar Ya Na Kar” from Darr’s song Jaadu Teri Nazar, he blamed these kinds of films for males in real life not taking women’s rejection seriously since they believe that a woman’s refusal does not imply a “no” from her.
“Koi aapko pakadega aise koi. But it’s true that apko aise koi apko pakadega. You have come a long way, but you still have a long way to go. When will the prerna cease to exist? Bollywood bhai ladki ki haan-naa ki tumhe parwah nahi karni ki shakti de raha hai. It’s not as bad as it seems. Someone will just declare, “You’re mine, whether you agree or not.” From whence did they get ideas like this? Bollywood is providing guys with the fortitude to disregard a girl’s yes or no. All you need to do is get hold of them.” In the video clip, Aniruddhacharya ji Maharaj states.
Bollywood makes harassment romantic
A number of films have often faced criticism for romanticizing harassment, coercive love, stalking, and no-consent relationships. Tere Naam, Kabir Singh, and Raanjhanaa are a few of them.
Nonetheless, narrative has changed significantly in terms of portraying a male chasing a lady, thanks to movies like Pink that openly criticized the strategy and emphasized “No means no”. That does not, however, imply that the argument over how movies affect real life is over.
