EPF Claim Rejection: Individuals working in private jobs deposit a certain amount in their EPF account every month. The company also deposits the same amount. The amount deposited in the EPF account operated under the Employees Provident Fund system is seen as an important financial security for the employees after their retirement. However, employees can withdraw this amount even before retirement, in certain cases.

EPF Subscribers can use the amount deposited in their Employees Provident Fund (EPF) subject to certain conditions. EPFO allows subscribers (employees) to withdraw money deposited in EPF under certain circumstances. Generally, the money reaches the employee's bank account within 10 days of applying for the money.
However, applications for EPF Amounts claimed by PF members are sometimes rejected. EPFO recently released a video on YouTube explaining the reason for rejecting the application.
Why claim application is rejected?

EPF members are shocked and confused when their claim application is rejected. Members decide to withdraw money from the PF account only when there is an urgent cash requirement. If the application is rejected in such cases, it will be a shock. Therefore, before applying, if the employees take note of the reasons given by EPFO as to why the claim is being rejected, the chances of the application being rejected will be significantly reduced.

EPFO has given the following reasons for rejecting the claim

Incomplete and incorrect KYC

EPF needs subscribers to have proper KYC. It is important to note that his Universal Account Number (UAN) must be linked to his Aadhaar. Apart from this, the mobile number and address of the members should also be updated.
Incorrect personal information

Subscriber's personal information like name, date of birth, month and year, father's name should be correct. The information given in the application must be in sync with EPFO's records.

Incorrect bank account information

Subscriber should double-check their bank account details given in the application. Bank account number, IFC code and branch details are very important to be correct.

Incomplete documents

EPF subscribers should attach the required documents with the claim application form. This includes documents like identity proof, address proof etc. It is necessary to verify all the documents before applying.

Keeping the above points in mind before withdrawing money from the EPF account can avoid claim rejection.
