Actually, auto top-up feature has been added in UPI Lite. This means that auto top-up feature has come in UPI Lite.

The hassle of adding money again and again is over

If the amount in the UPI Lite wallet runs out, the balance gets automatically added through auto-top up. This means that the user will not have to add balance again and again.

Money will get added Automatically

Understand it like this, if a UPI user has enabled a top-up of Rs 500, then as soon as the balance in the UPI Lite wallet runs out, Rs 500 will be automatically added.

NPCI gave an update

NPCI has issued a circular regarding the auto-top feature. According to this circular, UPI Lite users can use this feature from October 31, 2024. Through this feature, the selected amount in UPI Lite gets automatically added to the account.

The limit for keeping a balance in UPI Lite is Rs 2,000. This means that users can auto-top only Rs 2,000. UPI Lite Wallet does not require UPI PIN for payments up to Rs 500. However, to make payments of more than this amount, the user has to provide the UPI PIN.
