The decision is aimed at simplifying the processes and providing relief to many citizens facing difficulties due to the need for Aadhaar, let's know complete information about it-

Aadhaar card not required for registration: Earlier, Aadhaar cards were mandatory to obtain birth and death certificates. Under the new guidelines, it is no longer necessary to present an Aadhaar card or undergo Aadhaar verification to register these certificates.

Office of the Registrar General Update: The Office of the Registrar General responsible for maintaining birth and death records will now allow the issuance of these certificates without the mandatory requirement of Aadhaar.

Aadhaar Verification Option: Aadhaar verification is no longer mandatory, yet the Aadhaar database can be used for cross-checking information if required.

Aadhaar Requirement for Newborns: For newborns, birth registration requires the Aadhaar number of the parents, it is not mandatory for the newborn to have an Aadhaar card.

Government Notification and Implementation: The central government issued a notification to this effect, and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has authorised the Office of the Registrar General to go ahead with these changes.
