Red is not just a colour. Some would say it is an emotion when it comes to Indian festivals. Standing for prosperity and wealth, red in Hinduism has always been associated with Goddess Lakshmi and good fortune. Which is why, despite the pastel train that took over wedding trends a few years ago, red still reigns supreme. It is not unusual for people to wear red on important religious events. Even Bollywood celebrities have embraced the colour, and as the festive season kick-starts with Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, we sure did see some pretty big red moments. All the reds spotted at Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations:

Sabyasachi red

Sabyasachi has long been associated with his ethnic crimson red collection. For the high-profile Ganesh Chaturthi festivities at the Ambani household, Kareena Kapoor donned a gorgeous Red Kurta in Silk Noile with Embroidered Borders and a Bhandani Dupatta from Sabyasachi. Her hubby Saif Ali Khan twinned with her in a red kurta and a Bengali dhoti.

Bhumi Pednekar too was clad in a similar suit, however, she decided to carry her red with a Banarasi dupatta. Sweet and simple

Shraddha Kapoor's salwar suit for Ganpati celebration at home is an easy-breezy floral kurta, paired with matching pants and dupatta. The Stree 2 actress kept the entire look pretty minimal, accessorizing with only a pair of gold tone earrings. Elegant in red

For the Ambani Ganpati darshan, Sonam Kapoor pulled out all the stops, clad in an unreleased Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga, blouse, churridar and blouse. The crushed silk ensemble is straight from Abu and Sandeep's unreleased couture collection. Red anarkalis

Making a case for reds and anarkalis, Kiara Advani was spotted at Manish Malhotra's house for the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities in a beautiful crimson number.
